We are currently seeking a Lead Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator with exceptional leadership skills. The successful candidate will work out of town in a camp setting on a rotation schedule and spend time working from our office or yard/shop in Acheson, Ab.
Applicants must be mechanically inclined and will hold a valid driver’s license, be a team player, communicate well with clients and team members and be dependable. A pre-screening Drug and Alcohol test may be required.
-Operate and maintain company assets and equipment without direct supervision.
-Ensure regulatory compliance in accordance with Provincial and/or local Regulations.
-Develop procedures and policies as required for various plant operations.
-Submit work orders to customers for billing purposes.
-Develop and update emergency response plans.
-Enter daily operational data and sample results into daily tracking forms.
-Develop daily/monthly/yearly reports on plant operations.
-Track and manage preventative maintenance for entire fleet.
-Repair minor mechanical and electrical issue’s and notify management of required major repairs and maintenance.
-Complete all required daily HSE documents including FLRA’s, JSA’s, and vehicle/equipment inspections.
-Assist in developing O&M manuals.
-Manage plant consumable and required materials.
-Document and manage spare parts inventory/use.
-Oversee and manage 2-3 Level I/II Operators at any time in conjunction with manager.
-Manage many aspects of regulatory compliance including regular effluent sampling, obtaining permits, arranging inspections, preparing reports, dispersal field design etc.
-Establish and maintain customer relations
-High school diploma
-Min 2-3 years experience in the industry at a lead or supervisor capacity
-Alberta Level II Certification in Wastewater Treatment
-Alberta Level II AWWOA Certification in Waste Collection (Preferred)
-Alberta Private Sewage Systems Certification (Preferred)
-Experience working with Oil & Gas, OH&S programs and processes
-Must have strong computer, communication and organizational skills
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
-Ability to work effectively with team members
-Great problem solving skills
-Strong organizational skills
-Legally able to work in Canada
